Design Marine Co. completed a 10 day renovation of the M/V Paul Gauguin in February 2009 in Brisbane Australia. The M/V Paul Gauguin is owned by Grand Circle Cruise Line, a leading U.S. international tour provider and operator of a fleet of 45 small ships.

Design Marine Co. successfully outfitted the ship with the following:

Deck 5: new draperies and upholstery
Deck 6: new Internet Coffee Lounge
Deck 7: new steel structure & canvas membrane
Deck 8: new Grill Restaurant

Specialising in the management of cruise ship hotel area modernization projects, Design Marine Co.'s renovations took place in Brisbane Australia and lasted for 10 days. Hired by Grand Circle cruise Line, Design Marine Co. managed once again to successfully deliver the project while respecting deadlines and surpassing expectations earning them the right to their future project. Design Marine Co selected materials in close collaboration with the owner and oversaw the project quality and budget. Design Marine Co's total modernisation management includes technical engineering, logistics, all HVAC works and electric works as well as classification drawings and documentation. M/S Paul Gauguin entered service in Tahiti and French Polynesia in 1998 and was purchased by Grand Circle in 2004. Managed by Regent Seven Sea Cruises, the six-star Gauguin was named one of the world's top small ships in 2003 and 2004 by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. The ship returned to Tahiti and the South Pacific after the 10 day refurbishment and resumed a full sailing schedule.
